Weekends are always tough for me. When the routine goes out the window, so the eating does too. Saturday is the only day that Luke and I get together so we usually tend to treat ourselves. This Saturday was no different. I did, however, start it out right with a 5K race in 32:26. That's a far cry from a PR, more than five minutes actually, but it's a step in the right direction. We went out to Applebee's and I ordered the California Shrimp Salad. It was wonderful but loaded with avacado. We decided to empty out the beer fridge with our pizza dinner. I know... does it get any more irresponsible? Not really.

Today I walked 45 minutes with Devo and lifted weights for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I made a couple poor eating decisions along the way as well. For me, a successful weekend basically means holding steady. The scale will tell tomorrow.

I can't wait for a good solid committed week. Luke's birthday is this week so I'm already factoring in birthday cake. I'll just make sure the rest of the decisions counter-balance the calculated splurge.

B: Smoothie-

1 cup Soy Slender vanilla soy milk
2 ice cubes
4 strawberries
1/4 cup oats

S: 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch

L: Roast beef and turkey breast sandwich on whole wheat bread with a slice of cheese and mustard. I also had half of a chicken breast plain for extra protein. For a treat, I had a slice of cheesecake pie. I got the recipe from Recipezaar.com and it is much healthier than it sounds.

D: Leslie's Taco Salad

Lean Ground Beef cooked
Lettuce
Cottage Cheese
Salsa

Daily total: 1416

Went for a 45 minute walk: 2.3 miles

Well, I feel on board with this plan, and with Traineo for support, 100%. I've started off the day right with a soy milk and strawberry smoothie and a bottle of water. I plan to take a nice long walk with Luke this evening and make sure that my food intake stays right on track.

I am worried about the 5K tomorrow since I haven't run since the 5K two weeks ago. But getting my butt out there to complete the distance is more important to me that the time I run it in at this point.

Day one, or rather night one. I've been here before. I've lost the weight before. I need to find a lifestyle that I can live long-term. I will persevere. I'm running my second 5K of this season on Saturday. I'd like to get back to running without an extra 35 pounds following me around (quite literally) and putting extra strain on my joints and lungs.

Rules:
No alcohol
No chocolate
No unplanned munchies
Get your butt out of bed, girl, and run

I will persevere.
